We recently hosted an exciting webinar on Autonomous Navigation—the technology that allows autonomous systems to move safely and intelligently within their environment. If you missed the live session, you can watch it on our YouTube Channel

Key Takeaways from the Webinar

During the session, Andreas Andersson from MathWorks introduced the four essential stages of autonomous navigation:

  1. Sense & Perceive
Learn how sensor fusion combines data from multiple sources to create accurate situational awareness and enable self-positioning.

  2. Plan
Explore both global and local path-planning algorithms designed to generate safe and efficient trajectories for autonomous systems.

  3. Control
See how simulation and control strategies are applied to accurately execute planned paths.

  4. Deploy to Hardware
Andreas showcased practical demonstrations, including simulation examples, localisation, planning workflows, and how these algorithms can be deployed to real-world hardware.

Throughout the webinar, MATLAB and Simulink were used to model, simulate, and validate these workflows, highlighting their power for autonomous system development.
